Manchester United has not won the Premier League for the last ten years and has become a laughing stock in the League and Europe.

Although they’ve won two trophies in the last two years, the club has not competed for the league title for years.

Cristiano Ronaldo has advised Erik ten Hag to listen to Ruud van Nistelrooy if he wants to take the club back to the top.

Ronaldo and Erik ten Hag infamously fell off in 2022, resulting in the Portuguese superstar’s transfer to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

The Dutchman led the club to Carabao and FA Cup glory in the last two years but was close to being sacked last season.

Under the former Ajax boss, the club finished eighth in the league, their worst finish in the Premier League era.

The FA Cup win bought him a contract extension, but two defeats in the opening two matches have put him under pressure, and pundits believe he has a few games to save his job.

Ronaldo’s advise to Erik ten Hag

Ronaldo has been enjoying his time at Al-Nassr. He won the Golden Boot last season in the Saudi Pro League but is still looking for his first trophy.

He recently spoke about Man United and weighed in on what they need to get back on top.

“If Ten Hag listen to Ruud, maybe he can (help himself). I think it can help a lot because he knows the club and the club should listen (to) the guys who were there. You cannot, you cannot rebuild a club without knowledge. Not guys who work in office. They understand,” he told Rio Ferdinand via Football365.

“So I believe that Ruud is going to help because he was inside the club. He knows the club. He knows the fans. If the coach listens to him, I think they can improve a little bit the club.”
Ruud Van Nistelrooy was hired in the summer to replace Benny McCarthy as the assistant coach. Some have backed the Dutchman to take over if Erik ten Hag is fired.
